However, a court has ruled that the people who lived near that disaster should still be able to receive personal injury payments even though the bulk of the a $600 million class action settlement with Norfolk Southern railroad remains on hold during its appeal. Residents living within 10 miles of the crash that produced toxic fumes were eligible to receive up to $25,000 each, according to reports.
