Meth Found in Furniture Shipment in Truck

On August 27, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Otay Mesa Cargo Facility in San Diego seized 1,352.1 pounds of methamphetamine that was hidden inside wooden furniture. The narcotics were concealed within 225 pieces of wooden furniture.

A tractor-trailer carrying wooden furniture was stopped for inspection. A scan of the cargo revealed irregularities inside the furniture, leading to the discovery of the hidden methamphetamine. The tractor-trailer was driven by a 36-year-old man who was a border crossing cardholder. His visa was canceled following the seizure, and the vehicle and drugs were confiscated.
