Cavalry horses that were spooked by noise from a construction site in April threw off their riders and galloped through London, injuring themselves and a number of pedestrians along the way. The horses were rehearsing with members of the Household Cavalry — the unit that performs ceremonial duties around Buckingham — for a Major General’s Inspection, according to reports. They were spooked and ran, causing damage to vehicles, a bus, pedestrians and a cyclist. Officers were able to contain the horses before putting them in a horse carrier provided by the British Army and taking them to a veterinarian.
