Houthis Attack Another Ship in Red Sea, 3 Killed

Yemen Houthi rebels attacked a cargo ship in the Red Sea Monday, July 7. Three people were killed and others were injured, according to A European Naval force. The Houthi’s have renewed their campaign targeting key maritime routes for international trade.

The attack occurred on a Greek-owned ship operating under a Liberian flag called the Eternity C. Another ship was attacked just prior on Sunday, July 6. These are the first attacks since late in 2024. The route had recently begun to see more shipping activity.

The cargo carrier Eternity C was on its way to the Suez Canal and was fired on by rebels in small boats as well as drones carrying bombs. The remaining crew was eventually rescued after being stuck on board the drifting ship.
