Japanese Security Employees Accused of Theft and Indecent Assault

Two male security company employees have been arrested in connection with alleged theft and indecent assault against foreign tourists at Narita Airport.

Reports say 25-year-old Yukio Kondo, a guard, was arrested on suspicion of stealing a pouch containing $4,200 (¥640,000) in cash from a Chinese female tourist during a security check at Terminal 3 on October 2. Separately, Harukazu Takayanagi, 22, an employee of a different security firm, was arrested for alleged indecent assault after touching the chest of a Chinese female university student over her clothes inside the station connected to Terminal 2 on November 20.

Both suspects have admitted to the charges in police questioning, raising significant concerns about the safety and security of international visitors at this important Japanese hub.
