Man Arrested Upon Landing after Screaming “I Have a Bomb”

Abhay Nayak from Luton, UK, was arrested on Sunday, July 27 after causing a disturbance aboard easyJet Flight EZY609 from London Luton to Glasgow. Witnesses say he shouted, “I have a bomb,” “Death to America,” and “Death to Trump,” before being restrained by passengers. The flight made an emergency landing at Glasgow Airport, where Nayak was taken into custody by Scottish police. No explosives were found.

Nayak later appeared in the Paisley Sheriff Court, was charged with recklessly endangering an aircraft and assault. He made no plea and was remanded in custody. The investigation is ongoing.

The man is shown screaming, in videos posted to social media, while in flight over Scotland saying: “I’m going to bomb the plane, death to America, death to Trump, Allahu Akbar.”

The easyJet A319 aircraft was just minutes from landing when pilots declared an emergency with squawk code 7700. Police Scotland issued this statement: “We received a report of a man causing a disturbance on a flight arriving in Glasgow around 8:20 AM on Sunday, 27 July, 2025.”
