Part of Ceiling Collapses at Mallorca Airport

Chaos broke out at the Palma de Mallorca Airport when part of the ceiling in the arrivals hall collapsed, scattering debris and glass across the floor near the luggage collection area. The incident occurred around 4:30 pm local time and caused chaos among travelers at the airport. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

After the collapse, the airport activated its emergency response system and directed passengers to a secure area away from the danger zone. Witnesses said they heard a loud bang before the sound of glass breaking and debris falling reverberated through the hall.

The Spanish airports authority, AENA, is investigating.
