The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) launched a course titled “Business Aviation Security Fundamentals” (BASF) to address security risks within the business aviation sector. The course, presented by Dyami Security Intelligence, aimed to equip aviation professionals with essential tools for safeguarding their operations. Topics covered included security regulations, risk assessment, and awareness of threats like geopolitical instability and activism. The BASF course intended to promote information sharing and bridge communication gaps between ground handling and aircraft operations. Attendees praised the course for its interactive format and for highlighting the need to adapt security measures to the current threat landscape, particularly as assumptions about existing security protocols may no longer be valid. IBAC plans to offer the course multiple times per year.
