Ten people drown when four boats capsized in southwestern China during a sudden storm on May 4. More than 80 others fell into the river during the storm’s strong winds. The incident occurred in the Wu River, a tributary of the Yangtze.
The boats capsized in the river near Qianxi city in Guizhou. The 84 people that fell into the water were rescued after all out efforts to find them, according to state media reports. The death toll jumped from nine after the body of one missing person was found on Monday May 5.
The incident occurred as China celebrated the end of the week-long May Day holiday.
